Coming Soon! Luke’s Larder
27th, 28th and 29th December
10-12 am
St Luke’s Church Hall, Shipton Street, Burton Stone Lane
Luke’s Larder will be a one off ‘storehouse’ run by local community group Yourcafe and hosted by St Lukes Church. The Larder will be in St Luke’s church hall on Shipton Street, where people can give a donation in exchange for food that is otherwise headed for landfill.
Food will be donated by the local supermarkets across York and then distributed to participants who wish to take home up to 2 carrier bags on each of the three days the project is running. People will be asked to ‘pay as they feel’. The food is therefore available for anyone from the community to benefit from.
Yourcafe operates a regular community café in Tang hall community centre. All donations will go to supporting this in the future. For more information on their ethos and objectives visit www.yourcafe.co.uk
This initiative is being supported by York City Fc Foundation as it benefits our wider community. The Foundation team would be particularly interested in hearing from people who have transport and are able to collect donations, and deliver them to St Luke’s church hall on the evenings of 26th, 27th and 28th December.
Or fans who would like to support at the Larder on 27th, 28th or 29th December between 9.30am and 12.30pm.
If you or your organisation would like to support this initiative please contact Paula Stainton, Foundation Manager by emailing paula@yorkcityfcfoundation.co.uk or telephone 01904559508
