The York City Supporters Trust is pleased to announce a Special General Meeting (SGM) scheduled for the 8th of November 2023, 19:00 (doors at 18:30). This gathering is of utmost importance as members will have the opportunity to vote on pivotal changes to the Trust’s rules.
The proposed changes involve modernising the Trust’s operations to allow its Annual General Meetings and Special General Meetings to be streamed to members. To facilitate this update, two key sections of the rules, 38 and 43, will be amended. The amended sections are highlighted below:
Rule 38:
The Society Board may decide where a general meeting is to be held, including the option to hold it partly or wholly online. In doing so, the Society Board will take reasonable measures to ensure that online attendance is limited to eligible members.
Rule 43:
When a general meeting is held partially or wholly online, the Society Board may implement measures for resolutions to be voted solely by online poll. In this scenario, the Society Board will ensure that all members attending the meeting in person have the opportunity to vote.
This move reflects the Trust Board’s ongoing commitment to transparency and member engagement. While a full review of the Trust rules is still planned, making these specific changes will allow more members to be involved in shaping future Trust decisions.

Eligibility Notice:
Please note that only members who joined the Trust before 12:00 PM on November 7, 2023, will be eligible to attend the SGM and cast their votes on these important rule changes. This eligibility criteria are in place to ensure that longstanding members have the opportunity to shape the Trust’s future.
