This Valentine’s Day, York City Supporters Trust is proud to launch Renew Your Vows 2026, following the success of last year’s campaign, when around 60 Life Members chose to reaffirm their commitment to the Trust and the future of York City Football Club.
Now, we’re inviting all Life Members – especially those who didn’t take part last year – to join them in renewing their vows, reconnecting with the Trust’s purpose, and helping to shape the future of our football club.
Why Renew Your Vows?
YCST was formed in 2002, at a time when the very existence of York City FC was under threat. Over the past 24 years, the Trust has repeatedly stepped in to protect the club, represent supporters, and secure its long-term future.
Today, York City FC is once again a club on the rise – both on and off the pitch. With renewed ambition, growing crowds, and a positive outlook, this is a powerful moment for supporters to reaffirm their commitment to the cause that helped save our club.
Renew Your Vows is about reconnecting emotionally with that original pledge – just like renewing marriage vows – and showing, once again, what York City means to you.

What Your Support Has Helped Achieve Recently
Over the last 12 months, your Supporters Trust has delivered a wide range of impactful projects and initiatives, including:
- Monthly Trust Socials at Brew York, connecting supporters directly with club management, players and ambassadors
- 70th Anniversary Dinner celebrating the 1954-55 FA Cup Semi-Final team, hosting 50 supporters from that historic day
- 30th Anniversary Dinner marking the iconic 3-0 victory over Manchester United, attended by 35 fans
- Ongoing engagement with local authorities, national bodies and Persimmon Homes PLC to secure a lasting legacy at Bootham Crescent
- Funding and supplying a South Stand TIFO, first displayed in the Play-Off Semi-Final in May 2025
- £12,000 donation towards a youth team minibus, supporting player development
- Launch of the YCST Charitable Fund, providing support to local causes
- Introduction of a new digital membership system, including digital ID cards
Alongside this, significant work continues behind the scenes – representing supporters, working with club leadership, and safeguarding the interests of York City fans, much of which must remain confidential to be effective.
How to Renew Your Vows
To renew your vows, we’re asking for a recommended one-off donation of £100 – reflecting the original Life Membership contribution.
We fully appreciate that circumstances differ, and there is no minimum donation. Renewing your vows is entirely optional, and any amount you feel able to give will make a genuine difference.
You can also choose to support the Trust through a recurring annual donation of £10.
