The York City Supporters Trust, representing the passionate supporters of York City, has issued an open letter expressing concern over the recent decision by the National League to move the Boreham Wood vs York City match from the 6th to the 7th of January to accommodate TNT Sports broadcasting.
In the letter addressed to the CEO of the National League and TNT Sports, the Trust highlights the strain imposed on fans who have already booked travel and accommodation for the original fixture date. The abrupt change, three weeks ahead, during the festive season, has led to unforeseen pressures for supporters facing the challenges of the festive period.
The Trust emphasises the vital role fans play in football, urging for understanding and cooperation to address this issue. In their appeal, they request support in the form of free transport and reimbursement for affected fans.
The York City Supporters Trust remains committed to finding a fair and equitable solution that considers both the interests of the supporters and the necessities of the sport.
