York City Supporters Trust acknowledges the club’s announcement that there will be no Y22 bus service operating on Boxing Day. With the fixture confirmed as a sell-out, we recognise that the absence of the service will restrict travel options and add to the challenges faced by supporters attending a game with such a bumper crowd.

The Trust is disappointed that a solution could not be found on this occasion. While the Trust help setup and has previously subsidised the Y22 service, including on Boxing Day last season, we are not responsible for funding this service and are unable to assist on this occasion. Unfortunately, there is now insufficient time to explore alternative arrangements.

Supporters should note that the Number 9 Park & Ride service will be operating on Boxing Day, although on a reduced service. Fans are therefore encouraged to plan their journeys carefully and make appropriate travel provisions well in advance.

Looking ahead, the Trust intends to seek discussions in the New Year with key transport plan stakeholders, including the club, GLL and City of York Council. These discussions would aim to consider the entirety of the transport plan linked to the stadium development, including public transport provision, parking and car access, to help ensure matchday arrangements work effectively for all supporters.

The Trust remains committed to representing supporters’ interests and will continue to work constructively with all parties to improve matchday accessibility wherever possible.
