Martyn Jones was first elected to the Trust Board in 2010 with a total of 74 votes, in his time on the board Martyn has given countless hours of service to the Supporters Trust and, on numerous occasions, has played a vital part in protecting the football club. Under society rules board members can only serve for a maximum of 12 consecutive years, as such this will be Martyn’s last year serving on the Society Board. Everybody would like to thank Martyn for his continued efforts and support.

James Richardson has been appointed as the chair of the Election Management Group by the eligible members of the Trust Board he will be joined by Trust Secretary Sam Plaxton. Nominations must be received by 23rd July 2023.

Having launched a new strategy in recent weeks the Trust Board would like board level assistance with the following positions,

  • Treasurer – Responsible for the financial affairs of the Trust.
  • Fundraising Director – Fundraising is one of the four pillars of the Trust strategy and the board need assistance with setting the direction of Trust fundraising & coordination of volunteers.

These are the gaps the current board feel they need assistance with, not wishing to fill one of these positions should not stop members nominating themselves for a Trust Board position.

The AGM is a formal society meeting and is strictly only open to members as per the Trust rules. Annual members should note that membership renewals were due on 1st July 2023 so their memberships may need renewing. Online renewal is available Here. You must join the Trust before 5pm on Monday 31st July 2023 to be eligible to attend and vote.

In such a busy year for the Trust and York City Football Club we are excited to be spending more time with members and looking to what the future holds for York City Supporters Trust.

Keep The Faith.
