In conjunction with The Sporting Memories Foundation, YCFC Foundation is proud to host a weekly coffee morning at Bootham Crescent. Supporting older people in the UK that are at risk of becoming isolated, Sporting Memories encourages those that attend to recall positive memories that are rekindled through the means of sport.
Sporting Memories takes place in the 1922 Bar every Friday morning between 10.30am-12pm. With the tables covered in retro York City programmes from previous seasons dating back to the 1960s, we help people to connect with not only their own past, but the memories of others.
This social activity is dementia friendly and strives to help members of the local community come together and share their stories. The weekly event costs nothing to attend and there is always a selection of biscuits to go down well with a free hot drink.
